Exclusive News: Google Retired Blogger and Picasa Services

Bloggers and photo lovers its time to bid adieu to the epic services such as Blogger and Picasa as Google decided to pull the plug on several services that are not labeled under the Google brand. They planned on converting the services to suit the Google line of products and enhance them. This came up as research from the guys down in Mashable.

The move is another play implied by Google on the chess board of social media initiatives, by which it wanted to bring about a unification of its services in the launch of its social network Google Plus. The company is trying hard to make itself a worthy opponent of Facebook (apparently the social network King of the web).


Sorry if we gave you a first impression that Blogger and Picasa are actually being wiped out. They are two of Google’s top products and they would have to be bonkers to let it go away like that. Instead the services received new names under Google branding, Picasa will be called “Google Photos” and Blogger was renamed to “Google Blogs”. Several other Google brands are likely to be affected, though sources made it clear that YouTube would not be rebranded. The technology giant shut down Google Video, its failed web video service, in May.


The move isn’t without future insight as Google acquired JotSpot in 2006 and rebranded it as Google Sites in 2008. Also it acquired the VOIP based platform GrandCentral and relaunched it as Google Voice in 2009.


Picassa and Blogger have also been acquisitions of the company but have been part of the company much longer than the other services. Picasa was acquired in 2004 and Blogger (co-founded by Evan Williams of Twitter) was acquired in 2003 and is one of the top 10 most visited websites in the world. The only upset in re-branding is the consumer’s sentiments towards the move. However changing the names would allow Google to easily integrate the services into its social network Google +.


The transitions of the names took place over a period of one month to one and a half month. The dates were simultaneously aligned with the launch of Google Plus. Google didn’t want multiple identities of its user’s on different services hence decided to integrate them all under a common super account that allows access to any of its services through a single user name. Thanks for clearing the unnecessary need for so many passwords Google!! This way its a lot more efficient.


Besides Google+ makes complete sense for Blogger and Picasa, they are two social products that improve as more people use them. Also note worthy is that Google+ already has a photos feature, a product that we believe utilizes Picasa technology. Also important to note that Google+’s photo feature has no Picasa branding of any kind

Google Plus New Features

Google plus seems to be turning out into a better social network for online users with almost twice the amount of controls over user privacy than any other social network ever created. Facebook seems to be taking a lot of hints from Google plus as we have seen a lot of changes in the layout and the privacy functions seems to be in rapport with that of Google’s.

আলফা ডিজিটাল গ্রুপের পরিচালক ও বেসিসের ফ্রিল্যান্সার পুরস্কারপ্রাপ্ত মামুনুর রশীদ বলেন, ‘অনলাইন বিপণনের ক্ষেত্রে এসইও খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। আর সারা বিশ্বের যত ওয়েবসাইট রয়েছে, বলতে গেলে তত এসইওর কাজও রয়েছে। ওয়েবসাইটকে সার্চ ইঞ্জিনের শীর্ষে আনার পাশাপাশি শীর্ষত্ব ধরে রাখাও এসইওর কাজ। এর যেকোনো একটি বিষয় শিখে ভালো কিছু করা সম্ভব।

যেভাবে হয় এসইও
এসইওর সঙ্গে অনেক বিষয় জড়িত। এ ব্যবস্থাটি একটি চলমান প্রক্রিয়া। এক্ষেত্রে প্রথমেই সাইটের জন্য এক বা একাধিক নির্দিষ্ট কিওয়ার্ড বা শব্দগুচ্ছ বাছাই করতে হয়। কিওয়ার্ড বাছাই করার আগে সময় নিয়ে হয় গবেষণা। এমন একটি কিওয়ার্ড বাছাই করতে হয়, যাতে এর প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী কম থাকে। সে ক্ষেত্রে কিওয়ার্ডের সঙ্গে আরও কয়েকটি শব্দ যদি যোগ করা যায়, তাহলে দেখা যাবে প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী ওয়েবসাইটের সংখ্যা কমে আসবে। কিওয়ার্ড নিয়ে গবেষণা করা যায় গুগল অ্যাডওয়ার্ডের কিওয়ার্ড টুলের (https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/keywordtoolexternal) মাধ্যমে। এ ছাড়া রয়েছে সার্চ ইঞ্জিন-সহায়ক ইউনিভার্স রিসোর্স লোকেটর (ইউআরএল)। অপটিমাইজেশনের আরেকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ধাপ সার্চ ইঞ্জিন-সহায়ক ইউআরএল। সহজ ইউআরএলেরক্ষেত্রে ইউজারের যেমন মনে থাকে,তেমনি সার্চ ইঞ্জিনও এটা পছন্দ করে। পেজ র‌্যাংকিং এসইওর সঙ্গে জড়িত আরেকটি বিষয়। পেজ র‌্যাংক বাড়ানোর জন্য মূল শক্তি ব্যাকলিংক। ব্যাকলিংকের জন্য অনেক সাইট আছে, সেগুলোতে নিয়মিত ব্যাকলিংক করতে হবে। বিভিন্ন ফোরামে নিয়মিত লেখা প্রকাশ, বিভিন্ন লেখায় মন্তব্য করতে হয়। এ ছাড়া বিভিন্ন ওয়েব ডিরেক্টরি রয়েছে, যেখানে বিনা মূল্যে নিজের সাইটের তথ্য ও লিংক দেওয়া যায়, অন্যের ব্লগে মন্তব্য করা ইত্যাদি। এটি একটি চলমান প্রক্রিয়া। রয়েছে ক্রাউলার ব্যবস্থা। এটি হচ্ছে একধরনের কম্পিউটার প্রোগ্রাম, যা স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে ইন্টারনেট ব্রাউজিং করে এবং নতুন তথ্য তার ডেটাবেইসে সংরক্ষণ করে রাখে। প্রোগ্রামকে প্রায় সময় ইন্ডেক্সার বা রোবট নামে ডাকা হয়। গুগলের ক্রাউলারটি ‘গুগলবট’ পরিচিত। গুগলবট নিরবচ্ছিন্নভাবে ইন্টারনেটে বিচরণ বেড়ায়, যখনই কোনো সাইটে তথ্য পায়, তা যোগ করে দেয়। এ ছাড়া ওয়েবসাইটের অভ্যন্তরীণ লিংকবিন্যাস একে অন্যের সঙ্গে যুক্ত করে দিলে ভালো হয়। বিভিন্ন সামাজিক সাইট ফেসবুক, টুইটার ইত্যাদিতে নিজের লেখা বা কমেন্টে সাইটের প্রচার করাও এসইওর গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ। প্রয়োজন হয় সোশ্যাল বুকমার্ক ব্যবহার করা, ওয়েব ডিরেক্টরিতে নিজের সাইটের বর্ণনা জমা দেওয়া, নিজেদের পরিচিত কিংবা বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে লিংক আদান-প্রদান করা ইত্যাদি।

করা যায় আয়
এসইওর মাধ্যমে আয়ের নানা ধরনের উপায় রয়েছে। নিজের সাইটের জন্য এসইও করলে এর মাধ্যমে সাইটে অধিকসংখ্যক ভিজিটর আসবে, যাতে ওই সাইটটি থেকে যেকোনো ধরনের সার্ভিস বা পণ্য বিক্রি করতে পারবেন। এ ছাড়া সাইটে বিজ্ঞাপন থেকেও আয় করা সম্ভব। ইন্টারনেটে বিজ্ঞাপন থেকে আয়ের সবচেয়ে জনপ্রিয় পদ্ধতি হচ্ছে গুগল অ্যাডসেন্সের মাধ্যমে আয়। নিজের সাইটের মধ্যে গুগল অ্যাডসেন্সেরকোডযোগ করলে এটি ওয়েবসাইটের তথ্যের সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ বিজ্ঞাপন দেখায়। সেই বিজ্ঞাপনে কোনো ভিজিটর ক্লিক করলে সাইটটির মালিক একটি নির্দিষ্ট পরিমাণ অর্থ পেয়ে থাকেন। পরে গুগল থেকে চেকের মাধ্যমে সেই অর্থ তার কাছে পাঠানো হয়। বিজ্ঞাপনের পাশাপাশি আউটসোর্সিং মার্কেটপ্লেসগুলোতেও এসইওভিত্তিক নানা কাজ পাওয়া যায়। কাজগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে কিওয়ার্ড রিসার্চ, ব্যাকলিংক জোগাড় করা, অনপেজ অপটিমাইজেশন, কন্টেন্ট লেখা, এসইও কনসালট্যান্ট ইত্যাদি। এসইও শেখার জন্য ইন্টারনেটে ইংরেজিতে অসংখ্য ওয়েবসাইট রয়েছে। বাংলায়ও অনেকেই বিভিন্ন ব্লগ ও ফোরামে এসইওর নানা বিষয় নিয়ে লিখছেন।

How to Install Internet Explorer 7.0 Bypassing Genuine Windows Validation...

Internet Explorer 7.0 is the long awaited tabbed web browser by Microsoft. Nearly four years after the release of Internet Explorer 6.0, in the face of growing competition from Mozilla's Firefox, Microsoft has finally given the old IE platform a facelift. Optimized design along with new cool interface, favorites centre, search box, RSS feeds and most importantly easy to use tabbed browsing are the exclusive features of this new internet explorer.

You must have Windows XP Service Pack-2 (SP2) in order to install Internet Explorer 7.0. But still you will face a problem while installing this new Internet Explorer if your copy of Windows XP is not a genuine (non-pirated) one, since IE 7.0 installation requires genuine windows validation!!! So what to do??? Don’t worry… There are some tricky steps through which you can install IE 7.0 even in your pirated copy of windows XP bypassing the genuine windows validation. You just have to follow the following steps one by one:

1. Download Internet Explorer 7.0 installer from the Microsoft site. You have to choose Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) as your operating system. Remember you can’t install IE 7.0 if service pack 2.0 is not installed in your operating system. And if you are facing genuine windows validation problem while downloading IE7 installer from the Microsoft site, can also download this installer alternatively from here or directly from here.
   
2. Extract the downloaded Internet Explorer setup file (IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe) using WinRAR to a directory (IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu).
   
3. Download the patched iecustom.dll and then copy-paste it to the update folder (IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu\update\) and click yes when asked to overwrite.
   
4. Now, download normaliz.exe . Then copy this exe file and paste it in your “c:\” drive.
   
5. Run ‘update.exe’ in the update folder (not iesetup.exe!!!). At the end, you have to choose ‘Restart Later’ (not Restart Now) option to finish the running process of the exe file.
   
6. Now you have to download normaliz.dll and then copy-paste it to “c:\windows\system32\” directory (in order to prevent problems with the file not being found after the installation). And then reboot/restart your pc.
   
7. After rebooting your pc, you may face a problem with a file called normaliz.dll that can not be found by explorer.exe. If you’re having this problem, you will find your desktop blank.(If you are not facing this problem then just go to step 8) In order to fix this problem, you have to do the following things one by one:
   
1. Press ctrl-alt-del to go to the task manager.
2. Go to “File -> New Task (Run…)” in the task manager.
3. Type: ‘C:\normaliz.exe’ (excluding quotation marks) in the ‘open’ field and then press the ‘ok’ button.
4. ‘WinZip Self-Extractor - normalize.exe’ window should popped up and then press the ‘unzip’ button.
5. Reboot your pc and yahoo!!! now you can see your desktop contents!!!.
   
8. Now you have to run ‘xmllitesetup.exe’ in the update folder. This step is very important, because somehow if you forget to run this ‘xmllitesetup.exe’ , IE 7.0 will be installed in your PC without it's toolbar!!!
   
9. Then reboot your pc again, run Internet Explorer…and you are done!!!

HTML

এর পূর্ণরূপ হল হাইপারটেক্স মার্কআপ ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ(Hyper-Text Markup Language) । এটি ওয়েবপেজ এর মৌলিক ভাষা। HTML ভাষার বিভিন্ন ট্যাগের সাহায্য লেখা হয়ে থাকে। এই ট্যাগটি <html> ওয়েবপেজের শুরুতে এবং </html> এটি শেষে সবসময় ব্যবহার হয়। এর একট...ি জোড়াতে প্রথম ট্যাগ- শুরু ট্যাগ, দ্বিতীয় ট্যাগ- প্রান্ত ট্যাগ (এদেরকে আরম্ভ ট্যাগ <> ও প্রান্ত ট্যাগে ট্যাগ বন্ধ করার জন্য </> আকারে ব্যবহার করা হয়।) উদাহরণ- <h1> এবং</h1> । এই ভাষার মাধ্যমে ওয়েবপেজে টেক্সট , টেবিল, ছবি যোগ করতে পারি। ওয়েব ব্রাউজার এইচটিএমএল ডকুমেন্ট পড়তে পারে এবং তা ভিজিটরের কাছে সঠিকরূপে প্রদর্শন করে। ব্রাউজার এইচটিএমএল ট্যাগ প্রদর্শন করে না, কিন্তু এই ট্যাগগুলোর সাহায্যে ব্রাউজার বিভিন্ন টেক্সট , ছবি ইত্যাদি আলাদা করে সনাক্ত করতে পারে।

এটি লেখা যেমন শিরোনাম, অনুচ্ছেদ, তালিকা, লিঙ্ক, উদ্ধৃতি এবং অন্যান্য গঠনমূলক শব্দ বিভিন্ন আকারে ওয়েবপেজে প্রদর্শন করা যায়। HTML এর উপাদানগুলো ওয়েবপেজে বিভিন্ন ব্লক আকারে থাকে। এর ভিতরেও আবার বিভিন্ন ভাষা যোগ করা যায়। যেমন - javascript, css, php, ajax ইত্যাদি। html হল ওয়েবপেজের প্রাণ। বর্তমানে html 5 ভার্সন বহুল পরিমানে ব্যবহার হচ্ছে।

সহজভাবে বলা যায়, এইচটিএমএল হল একধরণের ল্যাঙ্গুয়েজ যা ওয়েবপেজ তৈরীর কাজে ব্যবহার করা হয়। অন্যান্য ভাষার মতই এইচটিএমএল এ নির্দিষ্ট ট্যাগ, সিনট্যাক্স রয়েছে। এই কোডগুলো সকল ব্রাউজার পড়তে পারে এবং সেই অনুযায়ী আউটপুট দেখাতে পারে। এইচটিএমএল এর সাথে জাভা, সিএসএস ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন কোড যুক্ত করে আরো শক্তিশালী কনটেন্ট তৈরী করা সম্ভব।

Bcc

যখন কোন ই-মেইল পাঠাতে হয় তখন গ্রাহকের ই-মেইল আইডি লিখা হয় To: নামক অপশনে। বিভিন্ন গ্রাহকের কাছে একই message পাঠাতে হলে To: এর নিচে Cc: নামে একটি অপশন থাকে যেখানে তাদের ঠিকানা কমা(,) দিয়ে আলাদা করে লিখতে হয়। এতে গ্রাহক জানতে পারবে আর কার কার কাছে একই মেসেজ গিয়েছে।

আবার Cc: অপশনের নিচে Bcc: নামে আরেকটি অপশন থাকে। Bcc মানে "blind carbon copy"। এর কাজ Cc: এর মত একই তবে এক্ষেত্রে একজন গ্রাহক জানতে পারবে না আর কার কার কাছে একই মেসেজ গিয়েছে। এতে খুব সহজে কয়েকজন গ্রাহককে একই মেসেজপাঠানো যায়।

যিনি ব্লগে পোস্ট করেন তাকে ব্লগার বলার হয়। ব্লগাররা প্রতিনিয়ত তাদের ওয়েবসাইটে কনটেন্ট যুক্ত করেন আর ব্যবহারকারীরা সেখানে তাদের মন্তব্য করতে পারেন। এছাড়াও সাম্প্রতিককালে ব্লগ ফ্রিলান্স সাংবাদিকতার একটা মাধ্যম হয়ে উঠছে। সাম্প্রতিক ঘটনাসমূহ নিয়ে এক বা একাধিক ব্লগাররা এটি নিয়মিত আপডেট করেন।

বেশিরভাগ ব্লগই কোন একটা নির্দিষ্ট বিষয়সম্পর্কিত ধারাবিবরণী বা খবর জানায়; অন্যগুলো আরেকটু বেশিমাত্রায় ব্যক্তিগত পর্যায়ের অনলাইন দিনপত্রী/অনলাইন দিনলিপিসমূহ। একটা নিয়মমাফিক ব্লগ লেখা, ছবি, অন্য ব্লগ, ওয়েব পেজ আর এবিষয়ের অন্য মাধ্যমের লিংকের সমাহার/সমষ্টি। পাঠকদের মিথষ্ক্রিয়াময় ছাঁচে মন্তব্য করার সুবিধে-রাখা বেশিরভাগ ব্লগের একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দিক। প্রায় ব্লগই মূলত লেখায় আকীর্ণ, কিছু কিছু আবার জোর দেয় শিল্প (আর্ট ব্লগ), ছবি (ফটোব্লগ), ভিডিও (ভিডিও ব্লগিং), সঙ্গীত (এমপিথ্রিব্লগ) আর অডিওর (পডকাস্টিং) ওপর। মাইক্রোব্লগিং-ও আরেকধরনের ব্লগিং, ওটায় খুব ছোট ছোট পোস্ট থাকে। ডিসেম্বর, ২০০৭-এর হিসেবে, ব্লগ খোঁজারু ইঞ্জিন টেকনোরাট্টি প্রায় এগারো কোটি বার লাখেরও বেশি ব্লগের হদিশ পেয়েছে।

১৯৯৮ সালে ব্রুস আবেলসন ওপেন ডায়রি নামান, এতে করে হাজারো অনলাইন দিনপত্রী জন্ম নেয়। ওপেন ডায়রির আবিষ্কার হচ্ছে পাঠক মন্তব্য, এটাই ছিলো প্রথম ব্লগ কমিউনিটি যেখানে পাঠকেরা অন্য লেখকের ব্লগ অন্তর্ভুক্তিতে মন্তব্য করতে পারতেন।

আগে জেনে নেই P2P network কি?

Peer-to-Peer বা P2P networks:

পিয়ারস হল একধরনের কম্পিউটার সিস্টেম নেটওয়ার্ক যা অনেকগুলো কম্পিউটারের মধ্যে ইন্টারনেট দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে। এটার সবচেয়ে বড় সুবিধা হল এতে কোনো সার্ভার লাগে না।  প্রতিটা কম্পিউটারই এক একটা সার্ভার। আবার একইসাথে ক্লায়েন্টও ।

বিটটরেন্ট(BitTorrent) হল একটি পিয়ার-টু-পিয়ার (P2P) ফাইল শেয়ারিং প্রটোকল। বিভিন্ন ফাইল ট্রান্সফারের ক্ষেত্রে (মূলত ডাউনলোড) ব্যান্ডউইথ কমানোর জন্যই এর সৃষ্টি। ফাইল ট্রান্সফারের জন্য এটি P2P নেটওয়ার্কের একাধিক সিস্টেম ব্যবহার করে। ফলে ফাইল ট্রান্সফারের ব্যান্ডউইথ সিস্টেমগুলো এভারেজ ব্যান্ডউইথ –এ বন্টন হয়ে যায়।

যেমনঃ কোনো ইউজার যদি একটি মুভি ডাউনলোড করতে যায়, তখন বিটটরেন্ট সিস্টেম  সেই নির্দিষ্ট ফাইলের সার্ভার হিসেবে একাধিক কম্পিউটারকে কে চিহ্ণিত করে এবং সবগুলো থেকে একইসাথে ডাউনলোড শুরু করে।

ইদানিং বিভিন্ন আইএসপিগুলো অফার দিচ্ছে অত্যন্ত দ্রুতগতির ডাউনলোড স্পীডের, তা এভাবেই সম্ভব হয়েছে।

এখন আমরা কিভাবে এ সুবিধা পাবো? প্রথমত বিটটরেন্ট প্রটোকল ব্যবহার করতে হলে বিটটরেন্ট ক্লায়েন্ট এর অধীনে যেকোন একটি সফটওয়্যার থাকতে হবে। যার লিস্ট পাওয়া যাবে  http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/torrent নামক ঠিকানা থেকে। এই প্রোগ্রামটি সার্চের এর মাধ্যমে টরেন্ট ফাইলটি ডাউনলোড করবে। বেশীরভাগ বিটটরেন্ট ক্লায়েন্ট যেসব ফাইল ডাউনলোড হচ্ছে সেগুলোর রিজিউম(ইচ্ছেমত বন্ধ এবং শুরু হওয়া) সাপোর্ট করে। এটি অত্যন্ত দরকারি বড় ফাইল ডাউনলোড এর ক্ষেত্রে, বিশেষত আমাদের দেশেও যেখানে লোড শেডিং এর প্রকোপ বেশী।
